Financing Your Education

Students in Class

Financing your education depends on the GSBS Program in which you are enrolled.

PhD students in the Basic Science Division receive a full tuition scholarship, health insurance and a stipend. On rare occasions, students in this division self-fund their education.

Students in the Clinical Science Division are often engaged in fellowship training and thus the funding plan varies depending on the activities of each trainee.

Students in the MS in Pharmacology and Drug Development and the MS in Biomedical Research programs finance their education through self-funding, employer or government sponsorship, an outside scholarship, and/or through a public or private loan.

Students in the MD/PhD - MSTP Program receive full tuition, an annual stipend, and health insurance through the entire MD and PhD programs.

Students should refer to each program page above for more information on tuition and fees.

Student Loans

There are loans available for both U.S. citizens/permanent residents and international students to assist with paying for educational expenses. The Tufts University School of Medicine Financial Aid Office assists GSBS students with questions about financing their education. They can be contacted at med-finaid@tufts.edu or 617-636-6574.
