MD/PhD Finances

Students selected for the MSTP receive full tuition, an annual stipend, and health insurance through the entire program. MSTP students are supported by a combination of funds including the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) Grant, GSBS graduate school training grants, and Tufts University School of Medicine.

Due to federal restrictions, only US citizens and permanent residents are eligible for MSTP Grant funding.

No separate financial aid form is required for this school-sponsored financial aid. Details of the costs of education during the medical school and graduate school years are presented below along with the financial aid package available.

Eligible MSTP students may also participate in the Federal Family Education Loan to help pay for any unfunded living and educational expenses. The Medical School Financial Aid Office assists students with the application process.
