Tufts Libraries

Student in the library

The Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and Tufts University provide outstanding study space, access to books and journals and many other services. The library on the Health Sciences Campus is particularly focused on the needs of our students and trainees. However, libraries located on all campuses of Tufts are available.

Tufts University Hirsh Health Sciences Library

The Hirsh Health Sciences Library (HHSL), located in the Medical Education Building at 145 Harrison Avenue, is one of four major libraries in the university system.

HHSL subscribes to nearly 1,000 print journals and 2,000 electronic journals, and addresses the information needs of education, research, medicine and management for the Boston Health Sciences campus, the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging, and the Tufts Medical Center Hospitals. Members of the Tufts community can access many of these resources directly online.  A few of its services include computer support, laptop loans, wireless computing, and online course management.

The library staff have assembled a suite of special resources designed to assist biomedical researchers and also offers workshops to help biomedical researchers in their scholarly activities.

Other Tufts Libraries

There are three other major Tufts University libraries in the Tufts library system.  These facilities are also open to all Tufts students, and provide online services.

Each library provides general services and those specific to its school’s specialty areas. We encourage you to explore them in person and online.
