Summer Undergraduate Research

Our NIH-funded summer research program, Building Diversity in Biomedical Sciences (BDBS), is a 10-week research-intensive, residential program for undergraduates interested in pursuing a PhD or MD/PhD in the biomedical sciences. Students receive a stipend, housing, and the cost of transportation to and from the Boston area at the start and conclusion of the program.

Students participate in career planning and career development activities during their time on our campus.

Post-baccalaureate Research Education Program (Tufts PREP)

GSBS is home to an NIH-funded post-baccalaureate research education program (Tufts PREP) and offers a wide range of training opportunities. PREP scholars spend one-year working on a research project in preparation for entry into PhD or MD/PhD programs.

Our NIH-funded IRACDA program provides talented postdoctoral scholars with the career skills needed to succeed in academic biomedical research.

The program offers access to a wide range of mentors across all biomedical disciplines. In addition to research and career development, the program provides training in teaching by partnering with local undergraduate institutions.

Scholars receive four years of support and participate fully in a vibrant postdoctoral community at Tufts University and in the greater Boston area.
