Faculty & Research
Our People
Our faculty of over 200 are drawn from the School of Medicine, the College of Engineering, the College of Arts & Sciences, the School of Dental Medicine, the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging. They share a passion for biomedical research and for education, making GSBS an ideal place to pursue one's training.
Many of our faculty are on the Health Sciences Campus, but others are located on the Tufts Medford or Grafton campuses. Some faculty are based at The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, Maine while others are based at the MaineHealth Institute for Research in Scarborough, Maine.
Our faculty are engaged in training over 200 students and are mentoring many postdoctoral scholars. They are also supported by outstanding technical staff.
Research
The majority of our faculty maintain active research laboratories that are investigating contemporary questions spanning from the most basic to the most translational aspects of biomedical research. They are supported by state-of-the-art facilities and core resources.
Faculty interests are a close match for our graduate programs with strengths in research related to molecular and cellular biology and genetics, immunology, microbiology, and neuroscience.
Students and postdoctoral scholars can pursue research that matches their interests and become active partners in the work, learning to adopt and follow new directions that expand the impact of our research.
