Research/Areas of Interest
There is an increased abundance of sensory neurons present in the tumor microenvironment (TME) of triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) compared to healthy breast tissue. Research from the Oudin lab has demonstrated that sensory neurons in TNBC aid in cancer cell migration and metastasis in both in vitro and in vivo models. My thesis research expands on this work, focusing on elucidating the role of innervation in TNBC and identifying the origin of sensory neurons in the TME.
