Research/Areas of Interest:
SCN8A developmental epileptic encephalopathy (DEE) is a neurodevelopment disorder caused by mutations within the SCN8A gene encoding for sodium channel Nav1.6. My research focuses on the use of antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) as a therapeutic for SCN8A DEE by modulating splicing of the alternatively spliced exon 5.
