Research/Areas of Interest:
My research involves Lyme disease’s causative bacterium, Borrelia burgdorferi, and how it interacts with human host immunity. In patients the response of the innate immune system can become tolerant of B. burgdorferi, and I hope to understand this phenomenon by investigating factors that affect this tolerized state.
