Research/Areas of Interest:
My PhD work aims to understand the connections between the inflammatory response in heart failure and cancer. I study mechanisms of T-cell activation in mouse models of pressure overload heart failure as well as melanoma to understand how we can promote anti-tumor activity without damaging the heart. I also work on cardiac inflammation in response to chemotherapeutic agents, using a similar approach to prevent cardiac damage while retaining the anti-tumor effect of these drugs.
