Host adaptation by Mycobacterium tuberculosis requires coordination of environmental response with bacterial metabolism. My project focuses on this aspect of M. tuberculosis biology, and in particular on elucidating the mechanism underlying the integration of the bacterium’s chloride response with its cholesterol metabolism.
