At GSBS, we’re committed to supporting our students’ mental and emotional health throughout their time at the school – and beyond. When you give to our Student Wellness and Resilience Fund, you help us provide support, training, and resources that empower our students to thrive.

Growth and Grit

Our students will spend up to six years in the lab, working to produce rigorous science under sometimes stressful conditions. As emerging scientists, our students must develop the ability to manage stress, ambiguity, and uncertainty, and build the resilience that will enable them to bounce back in the face of setbacks. With your help, our students can gain the skills and confidence they need to become effective team players who produce standout work while also establishing and maintaining healthy boundaries, habits, and work/life balance.

What You Can Support

When you support our Student Wellness and Resilience Fund, you provide our students with a range of resources and tools that help them manage academic and personal pressures. These include:

  • Panels and discussions – We provide students with opportunities to hear and learn from health and wellness specialists who offer information, guidance, and support in areas like time management, work/life balance, and stress relief.
  • Cultural support – In conjunction with our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts, we support students from different racial, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds as they navigate the complex societal norms around identity and difference.
  • Mentorship – By candidly sharing their strategies for managing stress and fostering healthy habits, our faculty provide students with a vital blueprint for how to successfully combine healthy living with a strong work ethic.
