The Boston Advantage
The supportive and collaborative atmosphere students find at GSBS offers the opportunity to study in Boston, a city with one of the richest biomedical research environments in the United States. Our city and the surrounding area is home to a large concentration of universities and major medical centers. We are also a hub for the biotechnology industry. Nearly 1,000 different biotech and pharmaceutical companies can be found in the greater Boston area.
Our campus is squarely located in the center of this culture-rich city. Based in the heart of downtown Boston's Chinatown/Theater district, we are a short walk from the beautiful Boston Public Garden, shopping and nightlife, and the start of the historic Freedom Trail. We are home to championship sports teams, world class museums, an exciting seaport district and many restaurants that range from ultra-casual to the finest dining.
The Health Science Campus
GSBS is located at the heart of the Health Sciences Campus of Tufts University. In addition to GSBS, this six-block area is home to the School of Medicine, the School of Dental Medicine, the Friedman School of Nutrition Science & Policy, Tufts Medical Center and the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging.
These schools, along with our partners in the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences and the School of Engineering in Medford, the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, in Grafton and our Maine-based faculty at MaineHealth Research Institute and The Jackson Laboratory, provide students state-of-the-art facilities and training.
