Selection Criteria
The MD/PhD Program considers all aspects of each candidate's application. The Tufts MSTP program is committed to diversity and encourages applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences that will enrich the mix of students on our campus. These include individuals determined by NIH as being under-represented in biomedical sciences. Individuals with disabilities are also encouraged to apply as long as they meet the technical standards required to obtain an MD degree. Our school provides a full range of support services to all students.
Information on technical standards
Successful applicants are expected to have significant research experience and letters documenting research performance should be included in the application. Although applicants do not need to identify a graduate program or finalize an area of study at the time of admission, applicants are expected to articulate their interest in research and present a clear view of the way research and medicine will mesh in their future careers.
Admission is on a rolling basis and applicants can be informed about the status of their application as early as December, or later in the admissions season.
