Research/Areas of Interest:
I am studying the use of sub-MIC levels of antibiotics in the treatment of Klebsiella pneumoniae. By using new methods of screening various drug combination strategies we are able to find synergistic combinations of drugs that allow for the use of low levels of antibiotics for effective killing and minimizing potential side effects of the drugs. I hope to understand how these drug synergies change when the bacteria are growing in different physiological settings that closely resemble the conditions within the human body.
