Research/Areas of Interest
The granuloma, a hallmark of TB pathogenesis, is a lung lesion that forms a microenvironment consisting of immune cells and a phenotypically heterogeneous population M. tuberculosis. The goal of my research is to characterize the metabolic state of M. tuberculosis within the granuloma and understand how these processes contribute to tolerance of antimicrobial treatment.
