I am currently focusing on the gene C12ORF65, mitochondrial translational release factor rescue, that is implicated in Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease peripheral neuropathies. I am working to better understand the influence of mitochondrial stress in peripheral neuropathies and the possible downstream signaling and cellular stress responses leading to neuronal degeneration.
