Clostridioides difficile is a leading cause of hospital-acquired infections. The C. difficile spore form is highly resistant to stressors such as antiseptics; however, in order to cause disease within the host, the spores must first germinate and transform into vegetative cells. I aim to define the molecular mechanisms by which factors involved C. difficile spore germination regulate this process.
