Research/Areas of Interest
Yersinia pseudotuberculosis (Yptb) is a gram-negative bacterium that can establish infection in the small intestine and exploit host cells through its Type 3 secretion system. While it is known that Yptb changes M cell populations as a mechanism to invade lymphoid tissues, the lasting effects of this infection are not known. Thus, I am interested in the long-term effects of Yptb infection on cell populations in the small intestine.
