Research/Areas of Interest
Vibrio cholerae interacts with both phages and the gut microbiota. My research focuses on understanding how the acquisition of several antiphage defense systems increases the success of the current cholera pandemic strain. I am also interested in understanding the interactions of V. cholerae with special gut bacterial species that could influence the disease outcomes of human patients.
