Research/Areas of Interest:

Klebsiella pneumoniae (KP) is a hospital acquired disease that causes a wide range of tissue infections such as bacteremia, pneumonia, and urinary tract infections (UTI) with an increasing level of multi-drug resistance. I am studying the drug interaction changes in different medias replicating the tissue environments. I will use different media conditions to see how and why there is a fluctuation of the efficacy of the antibiotics. In addition, I will investigate the molecular mechanisms and targets of the antibiotics to discover why there are varying results in different media environments.
