Research/Areas of Interest
My work investigates the role of molecular organization in synaptic function and plasticity. I am examining the dynamic redistribution of synaptic adhesion complexes in mature synapses after activity changes, and how altering the function of these integral proteins can instruct changes in synaptic activity. In line with this research, I am also interested in understanding the trans-synaptic spread of alpha-synuclein fibrils and its implications for pathogenesis and synapse disassembly and dysfunction in Parkinson’s Disease.
