Dean's Message - March 21, 2023

Dear GSBS Community,

Spring starts this week. As our thoughts turn to warm weather, the first buds on trees and baseball, a Dean’s thoughts turn to our PhD admissions efforts. This is our critical season, when we bring in and recruit the best applicants for the matriculating class.

This year, due to marketing efforts by Laura Felch (Director of Graduate Admissions) and Alex Israel (Event Planner and Marketing Specialist), we saw a 20% increase in applications for our PhD Programs. I want to thank everyone who helped with admissions: students and faculty who recruited during admissions days; our program coordinators, Hannah Hanneman, Jacqueline Kulas, and Shelley Antonio for their tireless organizing efforts; and our admissions directors, Andy Camilli, Steve Bunnell, Peter Juo, and Leon Reijmers. Our PhD Admitted Student Day on March 10th was a big hit and hopefully will help increase our yield of offers to join us. Everyone here has reflected our welcoming community and shown prospective students the great experience they could have at Tufts GSBS. I wish us luck as they make their commitments by April 15.
