Wellness is important. Be mindful and make time for a wellness routine on a regular basis.

Dear GSBS Community,

One of the ways I deal with stress is by a daily wellness practice of core exercises and meditation. Sometimes, I listen to the radio during this practice. I recently heard an On Being by Krista Tippett interview with UC Berkeley neuroscientist and psychologist Dacher Keltner, who studies the science of awe. The interview was moving, and got me thinking about the link between mind and body, a link that connects many of GSBS’s fields of study, particularly neuroscience and immunology. Dr. Keltner also stressed the importance of community to our shared wonder and wellness.

I wish you all success in your continued search for awe and wonder in your own science, and hope you continue to find it with your fellow students, faculty, and staff.
