Please welcome our incoming class and join us for the welcome reception on September 6 in the Jaharis Courtyard at 3:30 pm.

Dear GSBS Community,

The last days of August are a wistful time, as summer wanes and the days get shorter. I hope that you all can find time to enjoy the end of the season with friends and family. As a lifelong academic, I always have viewed Labor Day as New Year’s Day. As the academic semester begins, we look forward to welcoming new students, beginning new courses, and participating in activities.

I hope you will all warmly welcome our matriculating students at the Orientation reception on Tuesday, September 6 at 3:30pm in Jaharis Courtyard. The theme will be autumn: expect apples, cider, donuts, and other autumnal New England snacks. While this welcome event will kick off the year, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment is something we can all work on every day. If you see a new student, please engage them. We all remember a time when we were the “new kid,” and a warm hello can make a difference in how well our new students integrate into the GSBS community.

Dan Jay, Dean
