We study cell fate regulation within the hematopoietic system. Our current focus is on the epigenetic regulation of hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) and progenitor cell lineage commitment in three contexts: (1) normal blood development and maintenance, (2) alterations that occur during the process of aging, and (3) alterations that occur during the process of transformation giving rise to leukemia.
