PREP Courses

PREP Scholars take several courses during their training.


During the PREP year, each trainee will complete the GSBS Responsible Conduct of Research course (Applied Ethics for Scientists) and the Basic Skills for Scientists, a course offered in six modules:

Basics Skills Modules

  • Creating short written and oral presentations
  • Reading the primary scientific literature
  • Poster Presentation
  • Data analysis
  • Preparing a research proposal
  • Preparing a short platform talk on your research project

Other courses

Each PREP trainee takes at least one graduate course. Examples of courses taken by trainees include:

  • Graduate Biochemistry
  • Neuroscience
  • Introduction to Immunology
  • Cell Biology
