MD/PhD Interviews

A personal interview is an important part of the admissions process for the Tufts MSTP Program. The program sponsors about five interview days during each admissions cycle; about 60 to 70 applicants are interviewed each year.

The interview provides an opportunity for the admissions committee to evaluate the applicants' qualifications and allows the applicants to meet and interact with Tufts MSTP students. Each applicant may also identify faculty of particular interest so that information about research of special interest to the applicant can be discussed.

For the 2021-22 cycle, interviews will be conducted virtually. Invited applicants are encouraged to attend a Zoom Happy Hour with current students the night before their interview date. Due to the virtual format of the interviews, applicants will also have the opportunity to attend student panels on a variety of topics. One panel will take place on each interview day. Examples of previous panel topics include: Choosing a Lab; Transitioning from Medical School to Graduate School and Back; Women Physician Scientists; and Clinical Experiences.
