Research/Areas of Interest
The aim of my lab is to understand the mechanistic basis of hyperoxia-induced vascular changes at cellular and systems levels, to better understand the pathophysiology of human disease-Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). Our lab uses mouse model of oxygen induced retinopathy (OIR) which successfully recapitulates both the phase I and 2 of ROP. In addition, we use techniques like metabolomics, mass spectrometry (GCMS and LC-MS/MS), stable isotopes resolved flux analysis, lentiviruses/AAVs-based gene modification, cell culture, organoids, and in vivo mouse models to discover these mechanisms in OIR/ROP and related proliferative vascular disorders.
