Susan Parsons, M.D., M.R.P.

My principal research focus is the evaluation of quality of life (QOL) in children with chronic diseases, especially cancer. I am particularly interested in the relationship between clinical status and perceptions of health and functioning. This work now includes the design and testing of interventions for patients and their families, the goal of which is to improve functioning and well-being. I originally was trained as a health economist before entering medicine. I am also interested in the evaluation of the human and financial cost of chronic disease in childhood.
