Research/Areas of Interest:

Our research is focused on cardiovascular biology, specifically the role of non-coding RNAs called microRNAs, and how they regulate pathological and physiological angiogenesis. We have identified a number of novel microRNAs from the plasma samples of patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and from the brown fat endothelial cells of obese mice. The roles these microRNAs play in endothelial cell biology and angiogenesis in various disease models such as myocardial infarction (MI), diabetic wound healing, and recently in obesity and metabolism are main areas of investigation.
