Research/Areas of Interest

My research investigates neurobiological mechanisms that underlie susceptibility to the onset of affective disorders, with an emphasis on adolescent maturation of the brain. In particular, my work focusses on limbic and prefrontal neural circuits, neuromodulator and transmitter dynamics, and behaviours of emotional regulation and decision-making. These analyses are conducted through a combination of technical approaches, including ex vivo electrophysiology, anatomical tracing and immunostaining, behavioural testing, and in vivo physiological measurements and manipulations.
