Two Neuroscience Students Awarded Presidential Awards for Civic Life
Two GSBS students were among those selected for 2021 Presidential Awards for Civic Life. Alyssa DiLeo and Sadi Quiñones are both students in the Neuroscience PhD program.
The Presidential Awards for Civic Life are given to members of the Tufts community in recognition of outstanding service, leadership, and civic engagement. Both Alyssa and Sadi have made many contributions to our GSBS community.
Alyssa is the founder of REFs (Resources for Easing Friction and Stress), a group that trains students in conflict resolution, stress management and mental health awareness so they can create a strong support system for their peers.
Sadi used the funds from his Gilliam Fellowship to lead a series of events – including the “Let’s Talk about Racism” seminar series and cultural dinners – designed to combat racism and promote racial equity and justice.
You can learn more about their contributions and see the full list of awardees by visiting the Presidential Awards for Civic Life website.
