GSBS Relays 2025
On Friday, July 11, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences came together for one of its most spirited summer traditions—the GSBS Relays. Organized by the Graduate Student Council, this annual event brings students, faculty, postdoctoral fellows, summer trainees, and staff together for an afternoon of athletic challenges, team spirit, and celebration.
The Relays are more than just a fun day outdoors—they support the GSC Student Enrichment Fund, which helps GSBS students attend national and international scientific meetings. Each program assembles a team to compete in a variety of events, which have included the mile run, 4x200 meter relay, volleyball, tug o’ war, obstacle course, and even a faculty dunk tank.
After the competitions, the community gathered for a barbecue and raffle, enjoying great food and outstanding prizes. The coveted Relays Cup was awarded to the winning team, recognizing their performance and teamwork.
Final Results:
- 1st Place: MD/PhD Program
- 2nd Place: Microbiology
- 3rd Place: Immunology/PDD
- 4th Place: GMCB
- 5th Place: Neuroscience/MBR
Congratulations to all the teams—and a special shoutout to the MD/PhD program for taking home the gold! Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the event a success.
