What is the ultimate goal of your research?
My research focuses on Alzheimer’s disease. We have recently identified a novel mechanism of regulation of BACE1 levels and activity by the trafficking molecule GGA3 and ubiquitin. This pathway may be a way to regulate BACE1 activity and lead to the development of therapies for Alzheimer’s disease.
What excites you about your research?
The idea that the next discovery will help to better understand the mechanisms of neurodegeneration and help us find a cure.
What do you like best about GSBS students?
I love their eagerness to learn.
What qualities distinguish GSBS from other graduate schools?
The close relation between faculty and students is something special.
What do you do to relax?
Travel and photography are favorite pastimes.
What is your favorite local restaurant?
I really enjoy Helmand in Cambridge.
