Congratulations to all Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences 2021 Graduates.
Earlier today plans for the University-wide May Commencement events were announced. The University-wide ceremony will be fully virtual, while individual school events will vary.
While we will not be able to gather in person, we are exploring possibilities which may enable 2021 PhD graduates to be hooded by their PI and Master’s students congratulated by the Dean. If we are able to record an in-person hooding ceremony, it will strictly adhere to all COVID safety guidelines, occupancy limits, and protocols. We will also record the announcement of the winners of our annual awards and the traditional speeches by the Dean and the Student Speaker. These recordings will be put together into a full Commencement ceremony and released for viewing on May 23.
We are in the process of finalizing the details for this event and will make an announcement shortly. We will also be sharing information for graduates of the class of 2020 at a later date. In the meantime, if you have any questions regarding Commencement, feel free to contact Dan Volchok, Associate Dean.
