What influenced your decision to pursue biomedical research?

I have always been fascinated by living things and the natural world. After taking an introductory Biology class my sophomore year of high school, I knew that I would continue pursuing and education in this field.

How is the environment at GSBS helping you achieve your professional goals?

In my experience, the faculty, staff, and students at GSBS are all actively engaged in encouraging students to consider their goals for the future. This climate has provided excellent opportunities for learning about potential career paths, and steps that I can take to prepare for various opportunities.

What type of positions are you considering after graduation?

After completing my PhD, I will pursue a position in the venture capital industry.

Why did you choose GSBS over other graduate schools?

The students at GSBS were both intelligent and personable. The faculty members were engaging, and pursuing answers to a vast array of interesting biological questions.

What's your favorite way to relax after classes?

I enjoy being outside – playing sports, traveling around New England, or just hanging out by the river.

What's your favorite thing about being in Boston and why?

I appreciate the dense concentration of research and industry in the Cambridge/Boston area. Pursuing a Biomedical education in the world's foremost biotechnology hub gives me access to endless opportunities that would be unavailable elsewhere.
