Research/Areas of Interest:

I am currently examining the signal transduction mechanism of CqsR, a histidine kinase receptor that regulates quorum sensing in Vibrio cholerae. Quorum sensing is used by a wide variety of bacteria to coordinate multiple cellular processes in response to cell density. V. cholerae uses quorum sensing to regulate virulence factor production, biofilm formation, Type VI secretion, metabolism and natural transformation.
