Last Thursday was World Mental Health Day and Tufts released the final report of the University-wide Task Force on Student Mental Health. I was pleased to represent Sackler on this task force, and am happy to report that we have made significant improvements in our support for students. The working group on graduate and professional students focused their work on data gathering and community input before making recommendations. We conducted the inaugural Healthy Minds survey to collect baseline data, and held a number of listening sessions to better understand the concerns of students. As a result of the desire for more comprehensive support services, on April 1 we launched Talk One2One, an on-site and 24/7 counseling resource. They can be reached at 800-756-3124. We will continue to evaluate the usage and effectiveness of this resource and make modifications as necessary.

If you have the need for counseling or support, I encourage you to contact our Talk One2One staff. If you have any questions or concerns regarding mental health services or support, do not hesitate to contact me.
