Sackler marks the end of another successful BDBS summer program.
Sackler entrance

Hello Everyone,

A few quick tidbits of information this week.

Last week concluded the BDBS program and I was very impressed with the quality and intellect of our summer students. They all presented very impressive posters last Thursday. Congratulations to Luana Melo from Howard Chen’s lab and Olivia Drake from Chris Dulla’s lab for coming first and second respectively in the poster competition. Thank you to all the labs, faculty, students and post docs who mentored these students, and to Jamie McGuire and Karl Munger for their work in putting together a successful opportunity for these students.

Andrea Kang has begun as a Research & Instruction Librarian dedicated to supporting Sackler students and faculty. In addition to providing assistance on research, she will provide workshops on EndNote, Word and other tools students will can utilize in writing articles and their thesis. Feel free to contact Andrea on the fourth floor of MEB.

Ledja Lera, Program Coordinator in the Dean’s Office, will be leaving at the end of this week. We are in the process of interviewing candidates for a new Event Management and Marketing position to help plan and promote all of our activities. Thank you to Ledja for her work supporting students, faculty and programs within the school.

Enjoy the remainder of the summer.

Dan Volchok, Associate Dean
