Associate Dean's Message - February 25, 2019
Dear Sackler Community,
Successful and effective mentoring is an essential element of graduate degree program. However, mentoring is not a one-way street. Both mentors (faculty) and mentees (students) need to understand their role and how they can contribute to a productive relationship. On March 6 from 10 -11:30 am, Ruth Gotian, EdD, MS, Assistant Dean for Mentoring and Executive Director, Mentoring Academy at Weill Cornell Medical will lead an interactive mentoring workshop for the entire Sackler community. She will lead a discussion and activities around characteristics of a good mentor, how to develop a mentoring team and how good mentoring can lead to success in the lab. Students are encouraged to attend to learn how to work well with their mentor and as well as to be a good mentor for younger students. Faculty in attendance will be noted when placing students in labs.
Additional information and required per-registration is available online here!
Additionally, don’t forget to register for short courses in March and April.:
