I completed my PhD in Cell, Molecular & Developmental Biology under the guidance of James Schwob, MD, PhD.
My thesis work focused on the olfactory epithelium (OE), which has the unique ability to regenerate both its epithelial and neurosensory components. Within the OE are globose basal cells (GBCs) which act as multipotent progenitors during tissue regeneration and homeostasis. I studied the differentiation pathways of GBCs using a variety of genetic, cellular, and bioinformatic techniques.
I am now completing the third year of medical school.
