I completed my PhD in Neuroscience under the direction of Thomas Biederer, PhD
My work focused on the role osteopontin (OPN) may play in cortical development during the neonatal period using a mouse model. I used several markers to determine effects including visual acuity and the density of cortical neurons. I also studied the mechanisms underlying the effects of OPN on development with an emphasis on specific OPN domains and signaling pathways affected by OPN.
I am now completing the fourth year of medical school.
