Research synopsis:

A growing number of patients are receiving left ventricular assist devices (VADs). As this population grows, more patients with VADs will also have concurrent chronic kidney disease (CKD). Patients who have a VAD and concurrent CKD currently tend to have worse clinical outcomes compared to those without CKD. My research interest involves better understanding and characterizing VAD patients with CKD in hopes of improving clinical outcomes in these patients.
