Research synopsis:

Our lab is interested in identifying genes important for glutamatergic synapse development and function. The lab identified several novel genes involved in a simple, glutamatergic behavioral assay in C. elegans called the nose-touch response. My project is focused on determining the role of some of these genes at glutamatergic synapses. I am currently working with loss-of-function mutants to test if they have any relevant molecular or behavioral changes.
