Research synopsis:

I am looking at the interactions between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and the state of nearby chromatin, and how that affects regulation of transcription. Our lab have two high quality datasets to work with; one is a set of embryonic stem cells from the genetically diverse Diversity Outbred (DO) mouse population, including RNA-seq and ATAC-seq. The other is a DO hepatocyte dataset with RNA-seq, histone ChIP-seq and RRBS. Our group also has a partner wet lab that may do experimental follow-up of our analysis. At present we are still interrogating the dataset to get a sense of the possibilities it holds.
