I completed my PhD in Neuroscience under the direction of Chris Dulla, PhD.
My work focused on seizures, which can result when the complex network connections in the brain become disrupted or are improperly regulated. Following a traumatic brain injury, a large fraction of patients develop epilepsy through mechanisms that are not well understood. I sought to better understand the mechanisms underlying post-traumatic epilepsy including metabolic inhibition, channel disruption, electrophysiology, and immunohistochemistry.
I am now completing the third year of medical school.
