I completed my PhD in Molecular Microbiology under the direction of James Munro.
My thesis focused on Lassa virus, an arenavirus that causes a hemorrhagic fever. I used a biophysical approach to investigate the conformational dynamics of the Lassa glycoprotein during viral entry. The ultimate goal of my work was to understand how Lassa infects cells so that we may design therapies and vaccines against the virus.
I am now completing the fourth year of medical school.
