Research synopsis:

Candida albicans is a microorganism that can colonize humans as a member of the normal human gut microbiome or cause systemic infections as an opportunistic pathogen. My research uses a mouse model of gastrointestinal colonization to examine the role of Candida albicans in the broader context of the gut microbiome.
