Biography:

Lipids are fundamental constituents of neural cells and essential for the normal development of brain. The metabolic dysfunctions of lipids in the brain are believed to play important roles in the pathogenesis of many neurological diseases, such as intellectual disability, Alzheimer’s disease and depression. Genetics association studies show that the mutations of some genes encoding the enzymes regulating lipid metabolism can cause neurological diseases. My work focuses on exploring the functions of these critical enzymes in the brain and identifying disease-related lipids using lipidomic analysis, which could reveal novel biomarkers and intervention methods for patients.
