Research synopsis:

Our group is investigating the molecular basis of blood vessel growth and homeostasis by tyrosine kinase receptors (RTK) and the mechanisms by which RTK signaling is regulated in vascular cells. These studies have identified potential new targets for therapeutic intervention in vascular disease and cancer. Another area of research interest of this laboratory is skeletal growth and homeostasis. Several growth factor signaling pathways, including the fibroblast growth factors, regulate skeletal development, and we are investigating the mechanism by which FGF receptors and their endogenous inhibitors regulate skeletal development and homeostasis.
